The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially announced the closure of its Premium Passport Application Centres in Accra and Kumasi, effective February 20, 2026.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially announced the closure of its Premium Passport Application Centres in Accra and Kumasi, effective February 20, 2026.

In a press statement issued on Monday, February 23, the Ministry confirmed that the directive affects all applicants who have been using the premium centres, including individuals with pending passport applications. As part of transitional arrangements, affected clients are advised to continue their application processes at their respective Regional Passport Application Centres across the country.

The Ministry emphasized that measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth transition and to prevent disruptions in passport processing services. Applicants requiring clarification or assistance have been encouraged to contact the Passport Office Client Service Unit via 0302-754-200 for guidance and support.

Reaffirming its dedication to public service delivery, the Ministry assured the general public that the closure of the premium centres will not compromise the efficiency and effectiveness of passport services nationwide.

The announcement forms part of ongoing administrative adjustments aimed at streamlining passport services and strengthening operational efficiency across regional centres.
