“Social Media Has Done More Harm Than Good to Us” – Archipalago
Ghanaian artiste and social media personality Dennis Anane aka Archipalago has shared strong views about the growing influence of social media on young people, stating that the digital space has created more harm than benefits for many users.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Talk with Kula, the talent-led artiste expressed concern about how social media platforms have become a breeding ground for jealousy and unhealthy comparisons among the youth.

According to Archipelago, the constant exposure to curated lifestyles online often causes people to measure their lives against others, even when they do not know the full story behind what they see on their screens.
“Sometimes just a single post from someone can make another person jealous,” he noted during the interview. “People see appearances on social media and immediately start comparing themselves, without understanding the reality behind it.”
The artiste emphasized that many people portray only the best parts of their lives online, which can create unrealistic expectations for others who are watching from the outside.

Archipelago advised young people to develop self-control when using social media and to avoid allowing envy to dictate their emotions or decisions. He encouraged individuals to focus on their personal journeys rather than competing with others online.
According to him, success comes in different forms and at different times for everyone, and constantly comparing oneself to others can distract from personal growth.
He further urged social media users to learn to celebrate the success of others rather than feeling threatened by it.
