Young and prolific boxing writer Samuel Opoku Amoah also known as Sam Nana Gold has been adjudged The Best Boxing Writer in Ghana in the Boxing Ghana Awards 2023.
Sam, who is also a ring announcer and commentator beat off a stiff challenge from established fellow boxing writers before being voted for by fans who read his alluring articles and reports.
Announcing a bout
He dedicated the award to all who have helped shape his journey into boxing and stressed that it was an honour to reckoned in such esteemed company :
“For someone like Sammy Heywood Okine, I read his articles growing up. I also followed Prince Dornu for boxing updates. So yes, this is definitely a big one” , he told this reporter.

Mr Gold, who is also a Preacher, thanked Almighty God and expressed confidence that the current generation of Ghanaian boxers ( both amateur and professional) would bring glory to a nation hungry for laurels.
Hosting a boxing show
The awards scheme also recognised Azumah Nelson and Ambassador Ray Quarcoo for their immense service to the motherland.
