As Product Strategy Manager at Interswitch, she played a pivotal role during one of the country’s most transformative periods in digital payments.

Her work included developing partnership strategies for small-scale merchants that generated more than $15 million in annual revenue. She also spearheaded the integration of 12 financial institutions into a digital lending marketplace that facilitated over $20 million in loans within its first year of operation.

She later joined CreditRegistry, where she led the go-to-market strategy for a digital invoicing solution. Through strategic partnerships, digital acquisition initiatives, and channel sales, the platform successfully onboarded more than 500 merchants within six months while exceeding its revenue targets by 15 percent.

These achievements reinforced a principle that continues to shape her work today, that successful businesses are built around ecosystems rather than individual products.

“It reinforced something I still believe today,” she says. “Long-term growth comes from creating value across an ecosystem, not just optimising one part of it.”

Learning to Build Under Pressure

Working within Africa’s fast-changing business landscape taught Dawodu invaluable lessons about resilience, adaptability, and execution.

Unlike many mature markets, emerging economies often require businesses to innovate despite limited resources, rapidly changing customer behaviour, and uncertain operating environments.

“Working in African markets teaches you resilience very quickly,” she notes. “Companies are solving large-scale problems in environments that are constantly changing. You learn how to adapt, prioritise, and execute even when conditions aren’t perfect.”

Those experiences helped her develop practical problem-solving skills that would later prove invaluable in global consulting and technology environments.

Driving Digital Transformation Across Industries

Dawodu later expanded her expertise by joining Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she contributed to major digital transformation and operational improvement projects across multiple industries.

Among her notable achievements was supporting the digital transformation of an airline’s inventory management system. By introducing standardised operational processes and improving workflow efficiency, the project reduced maintenance-related delays by 30 percent.

The initiative also established governance frameworks that eliminated costly operational errors, prevented more than $1 million in potential rework costs, and identified approximately $20 million in value creation opportunities.

These experiences further strengthened her conviction that long-term business success depends on disciplined execution rather than bold ideas alone.

“I’ve always been interested in understanding why some businesses keep growing while others plateau,” she explains. “The answer usually isn’t one big strategy. It’s whether the organisation has built the capability to keep learning and improving.”

Strengthening Leadership Through Education

Seeking to broaden her strategic perspective, Dawodu pursued an MBA at Duke University, where she deepened her understanding of leadership, organisational decision-making, analytics, and business strategy.

Rather than replacing her practical experience, the programme provided a structured framework for years of hands-on learning, helping her balance rapid execution with disciplined strategic thinking.

“It gave me a different lens for approaching problems. I had spent years executing in fast-moving environments. Duke helped me think more systematically about how organisations make decisions, how teams collaborate, and how strategy translates into execution.”

Delivering Value at Amazon

Today at Amazon, Dawodu applies this wealth of experience to help enterprise brands overcome growth barriers across multiple dimensions.

Her role extends beyond advertising performance. She works closely with businesses to optimise pricing strategies, improve inventory planning, enhance product listings, strengthen customer experiences, and streamline fulfilment operations.

By identifying operational bottlenecks and uncovering untapped opportunities, she helps brands build growth engines capable of sustaining long-term success.

“There isn’t a single lever that drives success,” she says. “Advertising matters, but advertising alone doesn’t solve everything. If your inventory isn’t available, your product pages aren’t optimised, or your customer experience isn’t meeting expectations, growth becomes much harder to sustain.”

Despite building a successful international career, Dawodu remains passionate about Africa’s rapidly growing technology ecosystem.

She believes African entrepreneurs already possess many of the qualities global businesses strive to develop, including resilience, adaptability, creativity, and the ability to innovate under challenging conditions.

However, she emphasises that achieving global competitiveness requires pairing those strengths with scalable systems, operational discipline, and world-class execution.
