Ghana Launches 5G Network to Boost Nationwide Connectivity

Ghana has officially launched its 5G network, marking a major step forward in the nation’s digital advancement. The Minister of Communication and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu, had announced earlier this year that 5G would be rolled out in November, and as of today, November 1, this promise has become a reality.

The launch of 5G is expected to greatly improve connectivity across the country, enhancing the speed and reliability of digital communications. The Ghana National Gateway Infrastructure Company (NGIC) has taken the lead in implementing the 5G network, partnering with Nokia, Radisys, and Tech Mahindra. Together, they aim to bridge the digital divide by bringing high-speed internet access to both urban and rural areas by 2026.

This new network will open doors to more advanced digital services and boost various sectors, including education, healthcare, and business. With faster internet speeds and reduced latency, 5G is set to support more devices and provide a smoother online experience, benefiting Ghanaians across the nation.
