Celebrated TV host Berla Mundi has shared her advice on using social media wisely with young people. During her visit to Ashesi University for the B.YOU Campus Tour, she spoke about the great opportunities on social media that young people can use to positively impact society.
The B.YOU Project is a nurturing scheme to prepare young individuals for the future. Over the years, the project has inspired many young people, helping them achieve great things.
This year’s project began at Ashesi University, where Berla Mundi, the founder and leader, discussed the use of social media. She advised the youth to consume content that benefits them and avoid negative information that can harm their minds.
“In China, their TikTok content focuses on technology, AI, mathematics, and other subjects that develop them mentally. They use this content to grow their minds and achieve great things. For me, social media has helped build my brand, so it depends on how you use it. It is very helpful for the youth today,” she said.
Moreover, she challenged attendees to set up timelines for their lives. She believes the best way to succeed is to set targets within a time frame and work towards them. “I can’t sit on TV for the next 10 years; younger people need that chance. I want to be like Christiane Amanpour of CNN,” she added.
Berla Mundi’s visit to Ashesi University for the B.YOU Campus Tour provided invaluable insights into the positive use of social media. Her advice to focus on beneficial content and set personal timelines for achieving goals resonated with the attendees. By highlighting the success of educational content on platforms like TikTok in China, she demonstrated the potential for social media to foster personal and intellectual growth. As the B.YOU Project continues to inspire and challenge young people across various campuses, it encourages them to be themselves and lead meaningful change in their communities and beyond.
The B.YOU Project will continue visiting various campuses to nurture more young people and challenge them to get the best out of themselves, aiming to lead change in Ghana and beyond.
