Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh stands tall as one of Africa’s most influential business leaders, breaking barriers and setting new standards of excellence across the technology and financial sectors. A Ghanaian trailblazer, she is the Founder and CEO of Brainwave Tech Africa, a company dedicated to driving innovative technology solutions that transform industries and empower communities across the continent.

Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Angela carved a historic path in the corporate world. She became the first woman to be appointed Country Director of IBM in Africa and later, the first African woman to serve as Regional General Manager for IBM, overseeing operations across North, East, and West Africa. Her exceptional leadership also saw her serve as Microsoft’s Strategic Partnership Lead for Africa, where she was instrumental in advancing digital transformation initiatives through the Africa Transformation Office.

With a strong background in Marketing and French, coupled with executive education from global institutions, she embodies the perfect blend of African excellence and international expertise.

Her career spans over two decades across Africa and Europe, with senior roles in UBS Investment Bank and ABN AMRO Bank in the UK before joining IBM in 2011. At IBM, she rose through the ranks—starting as Territory Marketing Manager for West Africa, to Strategy Leader in Nairobi, Kenya, and ultimately Regional Executive Director.

Governance & Board Leadership

Beyond her executive roles, Angela has contributed to shaping policy and governance. From 2021 to 2025, she served on the Governing Board of the Bank of Ghana, helping to steer critical financial policies under the leadership of Dr. Ernest Addison. In 2025, she further extended her influence by joining the Institute of Directors UK and becoming a board member of Ghana’s National Information Technology Agency (NITA), reinforcing her commitment to strengthening Africa’s digital future.
