Highly rated Ghanaian songwriter and singer Enoch Nana Yaw Oduro-Agyei, widely known as Trigmatic, has added his voice to the appalling economic situation in Ghana.

The versatile artiste was a guest on Class Xtra with Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Saturday, September 7, 2024. He was on the entertainment show to create awareness of his impending event, Osagyefo’s Night. The event is scheduled for Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Alliance Française.

When asked of his opinion on the migration of the Ghanaian youths from the country in search of greener pastures, Trigmatic stated the obvious. The country is not an easy place for the youth, especially those who do not have any relation with influential people.

Well, I’m not a big fan of brain draining. I’m not so happy with the systems, but it doesn’t take the Ghanaian out of me. That is to say that we need to work on our systems. These things are happening because people may be tired; people have tried so many times to do their bits for the country, and they’ve been hurt.

Lately, when you talk to a lot of people and you’re not careful, somebody might just fight you. A lot of people are embittered. And so, with the systems, I won’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say it is all good.” the My Life hit maker explained.

The multi-talented musician, who is always branded with African prints in recent times, added that it is also not so green in the diaspora. Because of his job as a musical performer, Trigmatic has toured so many countries on the globe with his craft. He believes there are some challenges out there as well.

In the interview, the creative singer also attested to the fact that the artistes in this generation have it a little easier. This has always been the stance of those of his generation, and they always back their opinions with the fact that this is a ripple effect of modernization. He added that technology is for enhancements, so the artistes of this generation should not feel bad when this is said about the difference between the state of the job before and now.

Unlike before, artiste now have their own recording studios and do not necessarily have a featured artiste in the studios before getting the song done. Also, with the introduction of social media, especially TikTok, promotion of songs requires less effort than before. Payments made to the right owners of art creation are done with some level of accuracy and promptness considering the fact that GHAMRO is yet to find better ways of retrieving royalties for artists. This has significantly improved upon the standards of living in the creative art sector.

The third edition of the Osagyefo’s Night targets the celebration of Nkrumah’s Legacy in Music, Arts, and Theatre. This special, known as Trigmatic & Friends Live in Concert, is set to bring some great performers feed patrons with good musical performances. Some of the artistes who have featured in songs of Trigmatic over the years will also be there to support the distinguished event.

Trigmatic was vocal about the kind gestures of legendary Ebo Taylor in the creation of his recent song, Ghana Yoo. The song, which obviously has a touch of class, features Ebo Taylor, Epic Minds, and S’Villa. The fact that Ebo Taylor opened his doors for him when he requested to use one of the songs of the legend is one worthy of respect and honor. This is surely the way to go to help put Ghana on the map through our indigenous music.

The Sika Nti hitmaker, just like every other Ghanaian, believes that when the systems of Ghana are well managed, we will have most of the youngsters staying back to add their weights in building the nation. The question is, are the leaders ready to help build a formidable state for the country or keep making Ghana a dungeon for its youth.
