Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, the founder and leader of the New Force Movement, has announced a highly anticipated agenda for the upcoming 2024 election in Ghana. As a visionary business mogul, he believes he is the right person to improve the Ghanaian economy. Cheddar has been vocal about his criticism of the current government, accusing them of poor management of national resources. He assures Ghanaians that, if elected, he will ensure the proper utilization of the country’s resources.
With the election just three months away, political parties across Ghana are preparing for the big day on December 7th. The New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), Convention People’s Party (CPP), Progressive People’s Party (PPP), and Ghana Movement Party (GMP) are all gearing up to gather as many votes as possible.
Cheddar has presented his 12 principles, known as the “12 Pillars of Economic Freedom,” which he promises to follow if he is elected. He believes these pillars will provide a solid foundation for a prosperous Ghanaian society. Below are the key elements of his plan:
- Run a Government with Only 12 Ministers: This aims to reduce government spending and increase efficiency.
- Raise $50 Billion by monetizing Ghanaian citizenship: People worldwide would invest in Ghana in exchange for citizenship.
- Print Ghana’s Own Money and Unify Africa for Trade and Investment: Cheddar envisions a borderless Africa that fosters unity and economic growth.
- Transform SSNIT into a National Insurance Fund: This would allow contributors to access their funds anytime.
- Create a National Sovereign Wealth Fund: To replace the IMF and end Ghana’s reliance on foreign borrowing.
- Construct Ghana’s First Water Transportation System and Build an 8,000 KM Railway Network: Aimed at improving transport infrastructure across the country.
- Build Food and Gold Reserves: These reserves would serve Ghana for the next 100 years.
- Make Ghana a Tech Hub and Develop Renewable Energy: Plans include building a nuclear power plant and renewable energy infrastructure.
- Revise the Education Curriculum: Focusing on entrepreneurship to help students become job creators rather than job seekers.
- Put All Mineral Resources on Blockchain: To prevent illegal mining activities, also known as “galamsey.”
- Build a National WEB3 Platform: This would involve migrating all statutory and national data to a blockchain to curb corruption.
- Establish Hollywood Studios and Enhance Creative Arts: Helping artists own their catalogs, earn fair royalties, and control distribution and recording platforms.
Cheddar’s “12 Pillars of Economic Freedom” aim to present a fresh vision for Ghana’s future, offering innovative solutions to longstanding economic challenges. As the election date approaches, it remains to be seen how Ghanaians will respond to his bold ideas and whether they will choose him to lead the country toward economic transformation.
