Celebrated Ghanaian singer and rapper, Trigmatic, born Enoch Nana Yaw Oduro-Agyei, has revealed how KiDi and Kuami Eugene failed to get back to him after he sent his ‘My Life’ remix to them for a feature.
The celebrated songwriter had an interesting conversation with Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Class Xtra on Saturday, September 7, 2024. He is currently on a media tour ahead of his upcoming event, Osagyefo’s Night, scheduled for Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Alliance Française.
According to Trigmatic, after putting together the remix his My Life song, he had to share the song with some of the trendy artistes, which included the duo. To his surprise, he never had a response from most of them. King Promise showed interest, but he could not have a space on the masterpiece.
“So, apart from them, I gave the song to quite a number of artistes. Because, one thing about me in features is that I’m careful with who I work with. So, I wanted somebody who would connect with the song. I didn’t want somebody that would be forced to do a verse, so I left it open.” the revered songwriter added.
A number of artistes have come out to air their grievances over this kind of negligence of their fellow artistes when it comes to collaborations. Sarkodie has faced a lot of problems in recent times as the likes of Samini and Kwaw Kesse complained about him allegedly abandoning their projects. The likes of Keche have called out Kofi Kinaata for a similar experience. This unhealthy habit creates a form of unhealthy relationships amongst the artistes.
The song which featured M.anifest, Ayisi AI, and Walasi was a standout production, which Trigmatic has consciously made his trademark over the years. He made it known in the interview that he had to take advantage of his relationships with the likes of Genius Selection and Wei Ye Oteng to learn more about the musical craft. He aimed at perfection, which has made him an iconic figure in his space.
The Osagyefo’s Night, which marks the third edition, aims at celebrating Nkrumah’s Legacy in Music, Arts, and Theatre. Dubbed Trigmatic & Friends Live in Concert, the event is set to have a number of experienced performers feed patrons with good musical performances. Some of his colleagues whom he has collaborated with over the years will also be there to support the distinguished event.
The Sika Nti hitmaker was filled with gratitude for legendary Ebo Taylor for his kind-hearted gesture in the creation of the Ghana Yoo. The classic song features Ebo Taylor, Epic Minds, and S’Villa. Trigmatic also invited creative artists who can tell the stories of the Ghanaian heritage, especially related to Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, to contact him via his email for an opportunity to advertise their craft at the event.
