The Kwahu Traditional Area, known for its rich cultural heritage and peaceful coexistence, is
currently facing a critical challenge. The issue of dual paramountcy has reared its head,
threatening the very fabric of our community. As the youth of Kwahu, we are compelled to speak
out against this anomaly and call for a peaceful resolution.
In the traditional setup of Kwahu, the paramount chief is the highest authority and the symbol of
unity among our people. The paramount chief is the embodiment of our customs, traditions, and
values. The institution of paramountcy is sacred and revered, and it is essential that we uphold its
integrity.
The current situation, where two individuals claim the title of paramount chief, is unacceptable
and poses a significant threat to our peace and stability. Once a paramount chief has been duly
installed and recognized, no other individual can pose as an alternative paramount chief. This is a
fundamental principle of our traditional governance system, and it is essential that we uphold it.
This anomaly creates confusion, division, and conflict among our people. It undermines the
authority of the paramount chief and erodes the confidence of our citizens in the traditional
institution.
As the youth of Kwahu, we are deeply concerned about the implications of this dual
paramountcy. We fear that if this situation is allowed to continue, it will lead to chaos, violence,
and destruction of our community. We cannot sit idly by while our heritage is being destroyed.
We, the youth of Kwahu, call on all stakeholders to come together and resolve this issue
amicably. We urge the parties involved to put the interest of our community above their personal
interests.
We appeal to the government, traditional leaders, and all relevant institutions to
intervene and help resolve this crisis.
To resolve this issue, we propose the following:
1. Immediate cessation of all hostilities and violent acts.
2. A meeting of all stakeholders, including the parties involved, traditional leaders, and
government representatives.
3. A thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the dual paramountcy.
4. A peaceful and transparent resolution of the issue, based on our traditions and customs.
The youth of Kwahu will not stand by and watch our community being destroyed. We will take
all necessary steps to ensure that peace and stability are restored. We urge all our citizens to
remain calm and peaceful, even in the face of this challenge. Together, we can overcome this
difficulty and emerge stronger and more united than ever.
We reiterate our call for peace and settlement. We will not tolerate any further division and
conflict. Kwahu is one, and we will have one paramount chief. We will take up the palace if this
situation continues. We will not allow our community to be destroyed.
