Ghanaian Traditional artiste Stevo Atambire has disclosed the harmonious working environment from Ghanaian international musician Wanlov The Kubolor that has accommodated and groomed him over the years.
The internationally recognized Ghanaian artist had some interesting time with Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Class Xtra on Saturday, November 23, 2024. He opened up about his career and the thought-provoking journey he has embarked on to get this far.
According to the amazing vocalist who had to flee home to chase his dreams, Wanlov is his godfather. He has been on this beautiful journey with Wanlov since 2007. He has played on a number of platforms with him, and he now has some solo projects that he tours with.
“It is like father and son. He produces some of my songs. The song that had the NFL Superbowl, which features Ambulleywas produced by him.” Steve excitedly revealed.
The artiste, who is known for his authenticity, distinct vocals, and instrumentals, also has his own invented kologo, which is able to withstand the cold weather. As an international act, he has been able to equip himself enough that the audience will not be short of his talent as long as he is on stage.
The deep-rooted Ghanaian cultural He threw more light on how his song made it to the NFL Superbowl. This is a ripple effect of embracing modernization but being authentic and staying true to your roots.
“They approached the record label that produced the song. We had some other songs in contention for the same spot. It was chosen earlier this year, and I had many congratulatory messages from friends and loved ones. Later, they contacted me to inform me.”
Stevo also bore the challenging situations he faced as a young boy enjoying his musical talent. Just like most Africans’ talents, he faced fierce denial of his passion until he left his hometown in the northern part of Ghana to the nation’s capital. He had to leave a place, which provided him with so much fun for a busy place like Accra just to have the freedom to do what he loves most, his traditional music.
The African artiste can currently boast of over seven albums and over a thousand songs in less than two decades in music. His latest single, Walk Your Talk, throws more lights on his talent and creativity as a purposeful musician. The peace seeking project and other creative pieces are available on the digital streaming platforms.
Giving honor to whom it is due is one beautiful attribute of great people. The likes of Wanlov and other hand that lift these great talents will be strengthened with this heartfelt gratitude and respect.
