Ghanaian-Romanian television presenter, musician, and model Deborah Owusu-Bonsu, widely known Sister Deborah, has called for a collaborative piece with Liberian Afropop singer, JZyNo.

The ‘Mood’ hitmaker, via a comment on the live streamed interview, sent greetings to the multi-talented Ghanaian female artist, who was having some productive conversations with Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Class Xtra on Saturday, November 9, 2024. He showered praises on the ‘goddess’ as he addressed her with enough respect and adoration.

In response to the greetings, the famous Ghanaian singer asked that they work on some musical collaboration. “Every day, goddess, goddess, make we do collabo… Make I enter Liberia. Is he still there? JZyNo, let’s do colabooo,” the exciting singer replied. Observing the messages from each artist, it is obvious that the two Afro Pop singers have some level of admiration for each other’s brands. This is a great breeding ground for amazing projects for the Liberian and the Ghanaian music industries.

JZyNo, who collaborated with Lasmid on his mega hit song dubbed Butter My Bread, has achieved heights in the Liberian music industry and is looking forward to having a similar level of grip of the Ghana market. Sister Deborah, on the other hand, has been one of the biggest names in the Ghanaian music business. A collaborative piece will definitely serve both parties with some good nitch enlargement with the brand association.

The ‘Ghana Jollof’ hitmaker, in the same interview, revealed the fact that she does not do features based on the heights of the careers of proposers. Despite the level of quality, if she sees the light in the project, she comes on board with her talent. She mostly makes recommendations. She sometimes gets Wanlov, who has vast knowledge in music composition to help get the song in good taste.

The African Mermaid also spoke about the creation of her latest project, ‘Manka’, which features Pappy Kojo. The song seeks to advise listeners to have a second thought of their adventures before embarking on them. It is related to the activities in our daily lives such as relationships, businesses, and friendships, among others. The easy to sing along song with simple lyrics has amassed some great numbers on streaming platforms.

The seasoned singer also touched on the timidity of Ghanaian youths, which is a result of parents and elderly people always shutting them down. She went further to add that as we grow, we evolve, which creates the necessity for some questions to be answered. This particular attribute makes us lose a huge part of our confidence. Hence, our productivity is tampered with.

Collaboration is the way to go in every aspect of our lives. It introduces us to new things, which brings about growth. The Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2024 Best African Artiste of the year and 3Music Awards 2024 African Song of the year nominee currently has features from the likes of Medikal, Krimi, Epixode, among other top Ghanaian artistes. Working with Sister Derby may widen his networking experience and his music market.
