In a surprising turn of events, Eagle Plug, the agency representing Sarkodie, decided to cancel his performance just 20 minutes into the start of the show. In an official statement, Eagle Plug explained that there had been challenges with the contract from the beginning. Despite this, they moved forward, hoping the issues would be resolved. They even traveled to France, but upon arrival, they found that the organizers were still not honoring their commitments.
The press release from Eagle Plug stated, “As much as Sarkodie was eager to perform for the wonderful fans who came out to support him, we are left with no choice but to cancel his performance at the last minute due to the failure of the agency to respect the agreement executed between the parties.”
Sarkodie was initially announced as one of the performers for the Africa Fan Zone during the 2024 Olympics in France, along with other Ghanaian musicians. Many Ghanaians across Europe traveled to witness the event and experience the Ghanaian music and culture. However, they will now miss out on seeing Sarkodie perform.
