Nigerian-Uk Based Fashion Designer Faith Florence Obot Talks Fashion
Stitches, fittings, models strutting their thing on the international runway, fashion designers-that is the dream. But for Faith Florence Obot owner of rapidly expanding fashion firm K3D Couture, this is her reality.
It was founded in 2018 by Faith Florence Emmanuel Obot because of her burning desire to see people look good.
“As a young girl in my 20’s, I had a strong passion for fashion. The desire to see people look their best right from my tender age has always been my dream” She said during an interview.
“ I still remember that every time I went to church or other gatherings in Lagos, I would consciously study the way people were dressing. I carefully observed their attire, the style of their dress, and the fabric of their dress. I always told myself I wanted to be a fashion designer or stylist. With a heart full of passion to pursue this profession and realize my dreams, I was motivated to take a step towards making people look beautiful and respectable”.
“In crafting designs, I pay peculiar attention to the cuts. This is because the cuts are the foundation of a very good job. Achieving that beautiful garment, the finishing also plays a major role and finally the icing on the cake will be the details.”
According to her, details are an essential feature and an art that brings a garment alive and adds to its oddity. All of these are features that characterize an outfit made by K3D Couture.
Aside from herself and her clientele, she draws inspiration from a few local and international fashion designers , and she looks forward to the day when she can collaborate with them to produce some mind blowing designs. Among others, she mentions Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen.
Faith Florence Obot boldly expressed her conviction as a ‘nugget’ to the fashion fraternity that, “Looking at what I have been able to achieve so far, I believe that my presence in the fashion industry will be remarkable in the long run and I would want Nigeria and the world to look out for K3D Couture because I am an extraordinary potential to the fashion world .” She said during an interview.
