Ghanaian Gospel singer Mavis Asante has had her take on the political affairs and brand affiliation of celebrities.

The exceptional singer, as part of the promotional plans for her newly released song, Victory, was on Class Xtra, hosted by Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

The political season, which is a great opportunity to minister to some huge numbers, also comes with some financial benefits. Nevertheless, the fans do not have a positive perspective of the political terrain, which makes them mostly react negatively. This situation swings between the two major political parties in the country.

According to the fashionable singer, one party is on board to work her as part of the campaigning tools to win the upcoming general election. She added that their terms and conditions are not favorable, which has delayed the establishment of their contact.
“People forget that we are entitled to our own political views, and performance is our job.” the beautiful singer explained.

The exceptional performer from Anyinasu in the Ashanti Region of Ghana also spoke prominently about discrimination in the Ghanaian music space. She was really vocal about the fact that Gospel singers rock the stages, yet they are not treated the same way as the secular artistes. She listed payment, recognition, and awards as her criteria for her conviction on this topic. She added that the situation is better than it was before, but there is enough room for improvement.

The proud member of the Church of Pentecost touched on her experience as a participant of TV3 Mentor 4 in 2009. In her opinion, the positives in the television reality show outweighed the negatives. She learned a lot during the TV3 Mentor house as she was tutored on how to play a variety of genres and, most importantly, live band performance.

After her time in the Mentor house, everyone thought Mavis was going to do Highlife music. She swerved the whole country with Obaatan, a Gospel song written by Nana Boateng.

The Supreme Lady is now out with a new song after some eight good years since she last put out a song. Victory, the latest project from the camp of Mavis Asante, was produced by Kaywa. The well-crafted song is gaining some great attention as it was accompanied by a beautiful music video, directed by Skyweb. One significant fact about this great singer is that every song she releases resonates with the fans.

The award-winning Gospel singer, who doubles as a Reverend Minister and Marriage counselor, is still analyzing the offer from the said political party and may have one or two things to do before the election comes off. Victory is touching lives, and the singer has started to receive testimonies from the song.

Mavis was thankful for the support she has received in her journey as a Gospel act in Ghana. She went on to assure her fans of Victory Concert to take place year. Both audio and video of Victory can be enjoyed on the various digital platforms.
