Ghanaian Hip Hop and Hip Life recording artiste, Keeny Ice, born Amu Barnabas, has revealed how huge his latest song is. He also acknowledged the benefits he has obtained with the adoption by Tik Tok users.

The song, which was produced by Nexux Beatz and Abochi, was inspired by the Hedze dance of the people of Aflao. The song was officially released in September 2023, under the management of ABM Global in collaboration with Cloud9Gangs, and is still enjoying some level of relevance and growth, especially on social media platforms, Tik Tok. This new single beautifully blends the native sounds with contemporary urban beats, paying homage to the traditional dance culture of Aflao, Keeny Ice’s hometown.
Keeny Ice, who also released Frazz, a song that has his fellow Ewe rapper, Chief One, was featured on last year was vocal about how challenging it has been to get this far with the Ewe. He continues to prove his worth by having a number of songs make a constant appearance in the airwaves across the nation, especially in the Volta Region of Ghana. The song has received millions of streams on various platforms since it was released.
The rapper revealed the fact that Hedze is a contemporary dance in the Volta land. It is a fusion of traditional Agbadza dance and some modern dance elements. Hedze, which means huge, is a form of a victory dance that breeds positivity among the people of Aflao. This dynamic dance, which finds its origin in Aflao, crafted by the visionary Tsorwuino and later popularized by Vivor and Ma Money.
To the surprise of everyone, Keeny Ice was nominated in the Unsung category of the 25th edition of Telecel Ghana Music Award. He is joined by Lali X Lola, Kasar, Kwesi Amewuga, Seven Kizs, and Alapta Wan. Despite the talks around about the rapper being bigger than the category, he seems to have grabbed the nomination with open arms and hopes to use it as a stepping stone to prove his worth in the music industry.
