Ghanaian Hip-hop artiste Jason Gaisie, widely known as Pappy Kojo, has revealed the fact that people take his comments and actions in the wrong perspectives.
The renowned rapper had a very interesting conversation with Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Class FM’s entertainment show, Class Xtra, on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The interaction was basically about his latest collection, Millennium 2000.
Despite the situation surrounding his current state as an artiste and popular figure in the country, Pappy Kojo has been able to put together a six-track album. The interesting project features the likes of KK Fosu, RJZ, MzBel, Omar Burna, Tycuun, Origen, and Semenhyia. Chef Rida from Italy also had an opportunity to feature on the album.
The rapper, who hails from Tarkoradi in the Western part of Ghana, has come under a lot of criticisms for a number of reasons in recent years. They range from his encounter with Yvonne Nelson to the declaration of his sexuality, his gimmicks at the Fix The Country demonstions, opinionated statements on social media, as well as mainstream media, among other interesting happenings.
The multiple award-winning rapper does not shy away from clapbacks and does not show any sign of timidity that has been embedded in the youths, especially in Ghana. Pappy and Joey B had some great partnership in the music scene. Between the years 2015 and somewhere 2017, this duo was untouchable. They once joined Obrafour on stage to rap to his song without missing any of the lyrics.
Pappy Kojo has always shown keen interest in having a collaboration with legendary Ghanaian rapper, Obrafour. He has always revealed his adoration for the likes of Obrafour, Tic Tac, Reggie Rockstone, and Lord Kenya that he had to learn virtually all of their songs word for word while learning the rap trade.
The Ay3 Late hitmaker grew a fan base, which was youth-dominant. This came after his collaboration on a smash hit record with Joey B in the latter part of 2014 . The influence also affected the fashion sense of the youths of Ghana. He then followed with his first official single also featuring Joey B, ‘Realer No’.
Millennium 2000 is one of the latest projects in the music space that really deserves some level of attention. Hopefully, people can ignore the negativity around him and focus on what we all have known him for, which is his music.
