The Grammy Recording Academy is expanding its reach by partnering with countries in Africa and the Middle East. The Academy has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with governments and Ministries of Culture in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria.
This expansion aims to bring more attention and popularity to the Grammy Awards in these regions. The Recording Academy will work with its partners to increase its presence and services in these growing music areas.
Through these agreements, the Academy will focus on several important initiatives. These include supporting music creators by giving them a platform and advocacy, providing better training for artists, producing original content that highlights the rich musical heritage of Africa and the Middle East, and advocating for strong intellectual property protections for music creators.
The Recording Academy hopes these collaborations will help champion and empower music creators at all levels, bringing more international recognition to the talented artists in Africa and the Middle East.
