Ghanaian inspirational singer Mavis Asante has voiced out about their expectations to satisfy every soul with thier lifestyles as a Gospel artistes.

The Supreme Lady, as she is affectionately called, was a guest on Class FM’s entertainment show, Class Xtra, on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The fun-filled interview touched on a number of topical issues about her career as a Gospel singer.

The singer complained about how some critics have made it difficult celebrities, especially Gospel artists, to freely live their lives. When these artistes show up in modest costumes, they are tagged archaic and old-fashioned. If they modernize their dressing, they receive some level of condemnation. The artistes, who seem to have developed thick skins, are seen as people who are backsliding and have allowed the things of the world to overcome their faith.

The Mentor 4 participant also touched on her performance at Piesie Esther’s Flora Made By Grace event, which took place a few weeks ago at the Accra International Conference Center. She revealed the fact that herself and the ‘At33ne’ singer have been together for the past twenty years.

The experienced singer revealed the secret rituals behind her astonishing performances on stage. She mentioned that she mostly works on the spiritual aspects and her vocals and also takes a lot of fruit and water and avoids pepper and oil whenever she has an upcoming performance.

The ‘Obaatan Pa’ hitmaker, who hails from Kumasi, made mention of the fact that she discovered her musical talent at an early age, but thought it was a hobby. She also spoke about the strange thoughts of some Ghanaian parents about careers such as music and football being meant for truants.

The staunch Pentecost church member is currently promoting her latest single, Victory, which was produced by the boss of Highly Spiritual Music, Kaywa. The song was accompanied by an amazing visual, shot by renowned Ghanaian music video director, Skyweb. The visuals join the list of classic music videos that are recently making the Gospel music fraternity proud.

According to the fashionable artiste, the inspirational song was first recorded in 2001, had a retouch in 2016, and finally, in 2023, Kaywa pushed for the song to be finally worked on. She has lost count of the testimonies of blessings that the song has had on the lives of people.

The angelic vocalist, who has almost all her songs resonating with the public, also hinted at the organization of a Victory Concert next year. Victory is available on all digital streaming sites.
