By calling him a “Pantang Rema,” Dope Nation suggested that Kuami Eugene is a local or less polished version of the Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Rema.
Essentially, Dope Nation was implying that Kuami Eugene lacks the global appeal, finesse, and recognition that Rema has achieved on the international stage.
Furthermore, Dope Nation took their critique a step further by questioning Kuami Eugene’s professional standing in the music industry. They pointed out that he is an artist without a recognized label, insinuating that his career lacks the structure, backing, and prestige that come with being signed to a major record label.
