DKB And Jasmine Announced As The MCs For Diaspora Dance And Arts Festival 2024

Ghanaian comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, widely known as DKB and Ghanaian television host wnd actress Jasmine Ekubah, has been outdoored as the Masters of Ceremony for this year’s Diaspora Dance and Arts Festival.

The highly anticipated art and dance event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 24th, 2024, at the Accra Mall, in the capital city of Ghana. The duo will have the task to do what they do best, keeping the audience excited and energized.

With her lively personality and unmatched vibe, Jasmine brings an exciting spark to any event. Her passion for celebrating African culture and the arts makes her the perfect host to lead us through this incredible festival. The event grants her the opportunity to enjoy herself with the Ghanaian audience.

The “King of Ghanaian Comedy” as he is affectionately called is a seasoned comedian in Ghana. His background in comedy helps him to organize himself and give a great show anytime duty of MC calls. The legendary Ghanaian comedian is expected to gell perfectly with Jasmine to give the audience a great experience.

The festival, produced with a collaborative effort from U Dance Arts International, USA, Cedi Web and Afrowave Illusion, is set to bring all the exciting moments of this year’s Christmas period to the Accra Mall. It also targets exporting the Ghanaian arts and dance, which forms a major part of the rich Ghanaian culture, to patrons who traveled from the other parts of the world to Ghana to celebrate the Christmas festival. 

Diaspora Dance and Arts Festival comes in two faces; the painting session, which takes place during the day, and the choreographers will take over the venue till nightfall. The event will have some creatives painters display their talents on canvases as well as choreographers coming through with some amazing dance show.

The primary edition, which took place last year and the same date at the Afrikiko Leisure Centre saw some amazing display from the likes of Di Asa Queens, Brothers Afro Stars Dance Academy, TIMAFRIC, Hotboiz Dance Crew, African Flying Brothers, Militant Dance Family, Adjei Laryea, Baba Guy Guy, among others. Nakeeyat Dramani Sam and her brother, Rahman Dramani Sam, also displayed their poetry and singing talents. The excitement that erupted from that particular event was overwhelming. The organizers, sponsors, participants, and patrons were glad to be part of the adventure.

This year, the event comes back in a revamped state. Creative painters will also have their share of the opportunity to exhibit their God-given talents. This may serve as a great auditioning for performers due to the fact that the audience is expected to be intercontinental in nature. It is targeted at exporting the Ghanaian creative arts, which forms a major part of the rich Ghanaian culture, to patrons who traveled from the other parts of the world to Ghana to celebrate the Christmas festival.

The Diaspora Dance and Arts is aimed at unearthing talents and giving them some opportunities to elevate their careers. This will also mean a number of exports of Ghanaian dancers and surely the growth of the Ghanaian dance industry. Some choreographers who participated last year have, through the support or U Dance Arts International, USA, had some opportunities to showcase their craft on some major Ghanaian events and platforms.
