BIG JOE FRAZIER NAMES THREE GREATEST GHANAIAN RAPPERS, EXCLUDES SARKODIE

Singer and rapper Big Joe Frazier has ignited a heated debate by challenging the title of Sarkodie as the Greatest Rapper of All Time. This Bold opinion was shared during an interview with DJ Slim on Hitz FM.

When questioned about Okyeame Kwame’s claim that Sarkodie holds the top spot among Ghanaian rappers, Big Joe Frazier firmly disagreed. “I do not agree with my brother on this. Sarkodie cannot be part of this conversation even though he is doing well,” Frazier stated.

In the interview, Frazier was asked to name his top rappers. He listed Lord Kenya, Obrafour, and Reggie Rockstone as his choices. According to him, the impact of these three legends on the rap scene is undeniable. He praised their contributions, stagecraft, and the quality of their albums, noting that each track was a hit.

“When you look at Lord Kenya, Obrafour, and Reggie Rockstone in those days, they produced albums with complete hit tracks. Each track on any album was a hit, so I disagree with my brother on this. Even though Sarkodie is doing well and still relevant, we should give him time. Maybe he will do more, but for now, he is not,” Frazier added.

Big Joe Frazier, a veteran in the rap game with numerous hits, believes that recognizing the pioneers’ contributions is crucial. Even though they are good rappers, he believes the pioneers showed a lot of hard work than recent rappers. His stance highlights his deep understanding of Ghanaian music.
He further added that Ghanaian music in general, earlier artiste showed so much character and hard work than the new school. Reflecting to the old times, he said, “it was a matter of competition. You prove your worth even at the studio but now, everyone is releasing a track and even with little effort and with the help of social media and streaming platforms they are good to go”.
His stance on the music depicts his understanding of the Ghanaian Music industry and the effort required to make a name in the industry. The veteran figure has gained so much experience from the old times to this current age and has over the years played his role in the betterment of the Ghana Music industry.
