I read a story on Ameyaw Debrah’s news site where seasoned Actress Ahuofe Patri is reported to have stated that church people are too judgemental and that is a discouragement to her wanting to be in church.
However, this is what happens when we misunderstand the main purpose of going to church.
The church an like an Embassy or consulate representing the Kingdom of God on earth. It is where the citizens of the Kingdom, called Christians, go to seek asylum, recognition and Kingdom identity…
The church is a spiritual hospital where people go for healing after the world outside and life itself have afflicted them with so many physical, mental and emotional injuries.
The church is the representation of Jesus Christ who Christians have taken as their role model and look up for spiritual survival.
All the above mentioned never said anything about the church being a hub where the expectations of human approval are met. We don’t go to church to get human endorsement or to seek our true identity in the eyes of other humans like us… they are also there to seek same thing…But the only one we look up to for that self discovery is Jesus Christ… after all, the church is the BODY OF CHRIST.
