Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, is one of Ghana’s most celebrated and dynamic entertainers. Born on December 26, 1979, she has carved an indelible mark in the world of Hiplife and Highlife music, while also thriving as an entrepreneur, radio presenter, actress, and philanthropist.

Early Life and Education
Growing up in James Town, Accra, Mzbel’s childhood was shaped by the vibrance and challenges of her environment. She began her education at God Wisdom Preparatory School, before moving on to Korle Gonno 1 and Owusu Mills JHS at Mamprobi. She later pursued secondary education at Abuakwa State College, where she majored in Economics, Geography, and French.
Determined to build a professional career, she continued to the Ghana Institute of Languages, training as a bilingual secretary, and later joined Manifold Tutorial College. Her career in media began with an internship at GBC Radio 1, where she hosted the children’s program Mmofra Kyepem. This led to opportunities at Groove FM (now Adom FM) and later at TV3, where she worked as a production assistant and floor manager.
Transition Into Music
Mzbel’s journey into music began at Hush Hush Studios in 2002. Though her initial involvement was behind the scenes, her natural flair for singing eventually drew her to the microphone. Around the same time, she worked with Metro TV as a digital video editor and presenter of the entertainment show Smash TV. Later, at Apex Advertising, she honed her skills as a video editor and production manager, but her passion for music soon took center stage.
