The Police leadership led by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, hosted pupils of New Gbawe Cluster of Schools at the Police Headquarters as part of the “Snatch Them Young Policing Initiative”, focused on fostering positive bond between the police and children. The initiative aims to engage young people at an early age to instill in them the values of law enforcement and community policing.

During the visit, IGP Dampare spoke to the pupils about the importance of education, respect for the law, and the role of the police in keeping communities safe. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the police and the community to address crime and maintain peace and security.

The pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the IGP, gaining valuable insights into the work of the police force and the values they uphold. They also had the chance to participate in practical demonstrations, such as fingerprinting and crime scene investigations, giving them a hands-on experience of police work.

The “Snatch Them Young Policing Initiative” is a proactive approach to reaching out to young people and inspiring them to consider a career in law enforcement. By engaging with pupils at an early age, the initiative aims to build trust and positive relationships between the police and the community, with the hope of fostering a safe and secure environment for all.

The visit is a valuable learning experience for the pupils of New Gbawe Cluster of Schools, as they gained a deeper understanding of the role of the police in society and the importance of upholding the law. It also served as a reminder of the positive impact that community engagement and collaboration can have in creating a safer and more secure environment for everyone.
