Fast-rising comedian and content writer Kojo PJay has clinched the prestigious Comic Writer of the Year award at the 2025 Ghana Comedy Awards. The first ever on the scheme. The star-studded event took place on Saturday, May 24, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, drawing together the crème de la crème of Ghana’s comedy and entertainment industry.
Kojo PJay’s award recognizes his exceptional skill in crafting witty, engaging, and socially relevant comedic content that resonates with audiences both on stage and online. His work over the past year has earned widespread acclaim for its originality, relatability, and ingenious ability to spark both laughter and thought.

In his acceptance speech, Kojo PJay expressed gratitude to his fans, fellow comedians, and the organizers of the event. “…This is award is dedicated to every Comedian who picks up a pen to write or type on their phones, get up on stage and kill it. To comedy skit wirters and to Comedy Stage Play Writers. God bless our craft” he said.
He also mentioned in a post on Solcia Media that he seeks to push and ensure that Comic writing is as revered as Songwriter of the Year at the TGMAs.
