As part of the celebrations marking World Children’s Day, celebrated Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay, through her Shay Foundation, extended a hand of generosity to the Manhean M/A Basic School. This initiative aimed to enhance the school’s educational facilities and create a better learning environment for the pupils.
Wendy Shay, accompanied by her team, personally visited the school to make the donation. Her philanthropic act was further supported by Peeva Beverages, the brand she represents as an ambassador. During the event, Peeva beverages were distributed to the children, adding a touch of delight to the celebration of the World Children’s Day.
In her address to the pupils, teachers, and community members, Wendy Shay emphasized the importance of nurturing children as future leaders. She remarked:
“Today is a very special day for all of us. As we celebrate World Children’s Day, we are reminded that children are not only the future leaders but also the heart of every country. We should all try to sow seeds into the lives of our future leaders. They are the ones to lead the next generation.”
The donation included a wide range of educational materials and items essential for a conducive learning environment. These included:
100 school uniforms, 1,000 exercise books, 100 erasers, 216 pencils, 100 sharpeners, 100 rulers,100 pens,10 installed fans, 30 packs of whiteboard markers, Alphabet and number charts, 26 bags of cement and also, some peeva products.
The gesture was warmly received by the school authorities and the community, who expressed gratitude for the effort to improve educational outcomes in the area. Wendy Shay’s act of kindness serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting education and investing in the lives of young learners.
Through this initiative, the Shay Foundation demonstrated its commitment to making a difference in the lives of children, inspiring hope and fostering a brighter future for the next generation.
