MTN MoMo Ghana Limited, marking its 15th year in operation, has once again celebrated the efforts of Madam Rita Tetteh, who played a pivotal role in the famous “Me Nsa Ka” advertisement. As part of their anniversary celebrations, MTN MoMo presented her with a cash award of Gh¢30,000 to recognize her contributions to the company and mobile money’s growth in Ghana.
Madam Rita Tetteh first gained prominence through her role in the iconic “Me Nsa Ka” advert, which became one of Ghana’s most memorable commercials. This iconic campaign highlighted the convenience of mobile money and captured the attention of Ghanaians across the country, helping to establish MTN MoMo as a trusted financial service.
This recent award is not the first time MTN MoMo has acknowledged Madam Rita’s contributions. Five years ago, during the company’s 10th anniversary, MTN MoMo honored her with a fully furnished house. This substantial gift was a token of appreciation for her impact on the MTN brand and her role in popularizing mobile money services in Ghana.
While Madam Rita was initially compensated for her part in the advert, many still feel that her performance helped drive the adoption of mobile money services. Her role in the advertisement is seen as a key factor in MoMo’s early success, contributing to the growth and popularity of mobile money in Ghana, which continues to be a widely used financial service today.
