It is a common place to witness a myriad of gospel concerts lately all in a bid to draw people to the saving grace of Christ Jesus.
That is what the Mount Calvary Cross Ministry (MCCM) Choir hopes to achieve with their lively, powerful and spiritually charged gospel concert dubbed; IN HIS PRESENCE.
The concert is slated to take place at the Headquarters of the Mount Calvary Cross Ministry at Achimota, ABC Junction, close to the Saint John’s Preparatory School. The date is Saturday, 24th August, 2024 from 4 pm till God says it is enough.
This is the second of its kind and it gathers massive maturity and excitement as it grows over the years.
Organised by the MCCM choir itself, the first concert was held two years ago and gathered hundreds of souls both in person and online as it streamed across the world via social media.
The choir dished out many renditions of their favourite tunes in different genres to the delight and awe of the crowd who filled the auditorium to capacity. The most amazing thing about this concert is the perfect arrangement of songs which are categorised according to lyrical value and genre type.
They often start with slow-based worship songs that praise God and tell of His awesomeness… and then another segment graduates to Motivational songs in a mid-tempo mix of reggae, highlife and soul, to uplift spirits that are broken or distraught in God.
There is a beautiful blend of slow classical choral music with a call on unsaved souls to give their lives to Christ and tit ends with danceable highlife classics that charge the auditorium in honour of the living God.
According to a member of the organisers, Josephine Patterson-Klu, this year’s “IN HIS PRESENCE” concert is equally meant to win souls for the Lord and promises to be even bigger than the previous one.
She said the gig is free and open to the general public. “Our aim is to draw souls to Christ and nothing else. Having fun and getting yourself drawn to Jesus is a valuable experience that money can never buy”. Mrs Patteron-Klu said in an interview with the writer.
Another member of the organisers, Ishmael Doddoo told this writer that T-shirts would be sold at the entrance of the auditorium at Achimota where the convert will be held in order to raise money for better experiences for the concert which promises to be an annual affair.
Remember, the date is Saturday, 24th August , 2024 at Achimota, ABC Junction where the Headquarters of MCCM is located.
