Nnaemeka Okorie, widely known as Patoranking, has been appointed as The Regional Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Africa. This significant role was announced at the launch of the Timbuktoo Pan African Fintech Hub in Nigeria on July 9th. For the next two years, Patoranking will focus on promoting youth innovation and enterprise development, building Africa’s innovation ecosystem, and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Patoranking will advocate for the Timbuktoo initiative. This initiative includes ten thematic vertical Hubs located in cities such as Accra, Cairo, Cape Town, Casablanca, Dakar, Addis Ababa, Kigali, Lagos, Nairobi, Lusaka, and Timbuktoo University Innovation Pods (UniPods) across Africa. His advocacy will be crucial in investing in, reinforcing, nurturing, and building an African youth innovation ecosystem, according to the UNDP.
Known for his dedication to empowering African youth. With a heart filled with hope for Africa’s future, he believes that providing opportunities for the youth is the best way to foster positive change. Through his foundation, The Patoranking Foundation, he has offered numerous opportunities and scholarships, helping many young Africans rise to greatness.
“Empowering African youth by providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive is a cause close to my heart. I step into this role to lend my voice to important initiatives that hold immense potential to change development for many of our people through innovation and technology driven by the ingenuity and ambition of the continent’s majority – the young people,” Patoranking said.
With his new appointment, Patoranking is set to continue his mission of empowering African youth, helping to build a brighter future for the continent.
