Actor and musician Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has faced criticism for releasing a new song while the Asare family is still mourning their loss. The controversy began after Lil Win released a track titled “25th May,” today 30th July which features Kofi Flick and King Paluta. which he describes as a token of appreciation to God for saving him from an accident on May 25, 2024. In the song, Lil Win expresses gratitude for his survival and reflects on how some people wished him harm, but God’s grace protected him.

However, the timing of the song’s release has sparked mix reaction. Many people feel it is inappropriate for Lil Win to celebrate while the Asare family is still grieving the death of their son, who tragically lost his life in the accident involving Lil Win. Critics argue that thanking God so soon after the incident is a mockery to the family’s pain.

The accident occurred during the promotional campaign for the movie “A Country Called Ghana.” Directed by Fiifi and produced by Lil Win himself, the film was highly anticipated and received significant attention across Ghana and Africa. Unfortunately, while promoting the movie in Kumasi, Lil Win was involved in the fatal accident at Amakom, which resulted in the death of the young boy. The case is still in court, awaiting the Attorney General’s advice.

Despite the backlash, Lil Win remains a prominent figure in the Ghanaian entertainment industry. The incident and subsequent controversy have sparked conversations about the appropriate way to handle public expressions of gratitude following such tragic events.
