Shatta Wale’s convoy was involved in an accident on the Bolga-Tamale Highway, resulting in the death of Sergeant Frempah Bismark of the Ghana Police Service. The Dancehall king was en route to Bolgatanga for a concert to promote Jaga 4 Bitters, Taabea talcum, and other products. This was his first visit to the Upper East Region, with the event scheduled for May 31, 2024.
In preparation for the concert, Shatta Wale flew to Tamale Airport and was escorted by road to Bolgatanga. The escort was intended to provide a grand welcome for the “AYOO” hitmaker. Tragically, the lead rider of the convoy collided with a passenger vehicle, causing the fatal accident. Sergeant Bismark had studied the Law of Evidence, Criminal Procedure, and Police Ethics at the National Police Training School.
Despite the accident, the concert will continue at the Bolgatanga Sports Stadium at 7 PM. There has been no official statement from Shatta Wale or the event organizers, but updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
