Sarkodie and Guru are two of the most popular names in the Ghanaian music industry. Known for their unique styles and hit songs, these two artists have been working hard to make a name for themselves in the music industry. But what many people may not know is that they have over 30 unreleased songs that they have been working on for years.
In a recent interview on Class 91.3fm with zeal Nana Kwaku Bliss, Guru opened up about his journey in the music industry and how tirelessly he and Sarkodie worked as underground artists. Guru, born Maradona Yeboah Adje, started out his music career as a rapper known for his Kasahare style of rap. He gained recognition for his witty and humorous lyrics, as well as his energetic performances.
Guru explained that he and Sarkodie, whose real name is Michael Owusu Addo, used to perform at underground shows and events in order to gain exposure and build a fan base. They would spend hours writing and recording songs, honing their skills and perfecting their craft.
“We used to work tirelessly, spending countless hours in studios and performing at small shows just to get our name out there,” Guru said. “We knew that in order to make it in the music industry, we had to put in the work and prove ourselves as artists.”
Despite their hard work, Guru revealed that they still have over 30 unreleased songs that they have been holding onto,” Guru said.
Guru and Sarkodie have both gone on to achieve massive success in the music industry, with numerous hit songs and awards to their names. But they both credit their early days as underground artists for shaping them into the artists they are today.
