Ghanaian Highlife and Afrobeats singer King Promise, known in real life as Gregory Nii Bortey Newman, is preparing to feed his fans in some parts of Asia with his amazing talent.
The Tema-based singer with enviable songwriting and delivery skills will be performing at three major venues within a space of ten days in the highly populous continent. King Promise is expected to commence the tour on April 26, 2024, and end it on May 3, 2024. During this period, he will be at the Tipsy Unicorn Beach Club in Singapore, Atlas Beach Club in Bali, and Bengkel Space, Jakarta, in Indonesia.
The Legacy Life Entertainment signee has enjoyed his music career recently, especially in 2023, when he came out with worldwide hit song, Terminator, and followed it up with another hit song, Perfect Combi. The latest song of the Ghanaian vocalist, Paris, which was released this year, is following suit and gradually gaining grounds.
Although Thank God, which was produced by Killbeatz and featured Fuse OGD released in 2016 was his first official song, Oh Yeah, Selfish and few other great releases introduced King Promise to the Ghanaian and further, the African music scene. He is also a go-to man for featuring if any artiste needs a classic chorus that will take their projects to another level. He did some magic on Wizkid’s Tokyo, Medikal’s Ayekoo, Mugeez’s CCTV, Sarkodie’s Can’t Let You Go, and Sugarcane remix by Camidoh.
The multiple award winning artiste has grown to create some familiar relationships with some African music giants such as Sarkodie, Wizkid, Davido, R2Beez, and Mr Eazi, among many others. This has served him with a broader range of audience to feed on his intersting musical products.
Terminator, the flagship song of the MOBO Awards nominee is a testament to his growth in the African music space as the song gained particular attention in Nigeria and other parts of the world since its release, despite the fact that the song didn’t go through the normal mode of promotion in the music industry. We saw top African stars, especially in Ghana and Nigeria, participating in the dance challenge. Ghanaian soccer maestro, Kudus Mohammed, once engaged himself in the dance challenge with French defender, Kurt Zouma after scoring for West Ham United in one of the English Premier League games which help in popularizing the song.
Hopefully, King Promise will have an exceptional experience in his tour to push other Ghanaian artistes to venture such regions of the world. He has proven his worth in terms of his stage craft, especially in the Promiseland Festival, which is his yearly event. The Asian tour is a beautiful project, of which he deserves some accolades for how far he has taken his brand.
