Asante Kotoko has made a major move by signing 22-year-old Nigerian midfielder, Fernando Wisdom Bassey, on a free transfer. Bassey has committed to a three-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors, keeping him at the club until 2027.
Feenando Bassey comes to Asante Kotoko with a strong reputation after spending six successful seasons with Akwa United in Nigeria. His attacking prowess was on full display during their 2021 league-winning campaign, where he played a crucial role in their triumph. In his new journey with the club, Bassey will be responsible for wearing the number 7 jersey, a number previously worn by Bernard Sarpong. Sarpong is currently on loan to Spanish La Liga side Celta Vigo for the upcoming season.
