In a recent interview with Showbiz TV, comedian Ebenezer Dwomoh shared how a $1500 gig helped convince his skeptical father to approve his comedy career.
Ebenezer Dwumoh who doubles as an architect hailing from Ghana, has always had a passion for making people laugh. However, like many parents, his father was initially concerned about the stability and success of a career in comedy. Despite his father’s reservations, Dwumoh continued to pursue his dreams and hone his craft.
It wasn’t until he landed a $1500 gig in the city of Nairobi (Kenya) that his father began to take his career seriously. The gig not only gave Dwumoh a much-needed boost in confidence but also showcased his talent and potential to his father.
“I was over the moon when I landed that $1500 gig. It was a turning point in my career and it also helped my father see that comedy could be a viable career path for me,” Dwumoh shared in the interview.
Following the success of the gig, Dwumoh’s father finally gave his approval and support for his son’s comedy career. “My father saw how passionate and dedicated I was to my craft, and he realized that this was more than just a hobby for me. His approval meant the world to me and gave me the motivation to continue pursuing my dreams,” Dwumoh added.
Ebenezer Dwumoh’s success story serves as a reminder that with hard work, dedication, and a little bit of luck, dreams can indeed become a reality. He hopes to inspire other aspiring comedians to never give up on their passion and to always believe in themselves, no matter the obstacles they may face.
